Steve Wetzel, baseball coach at Freedom High School, is the executive director of an organization called "Hero Program". The Hero Program provides financial, educational, and emotional support to terminally ill children and their families. The Program doesn't measure its work in terms of success, but in terms of significance. The difference is the emotional connection and the relationships they maintain with the Hero Families. These relationships allow the Program to get at the heart of Heroes’ needs and to provide support for their every-day challenges. Learn more about the Program at www.heroprogram.org.
Steve tells us that the Hero Program is having a charity Poker tournament and sports auction Jan 14th at Shadow Lakes Country Club at 6pm. You have an option of 2 different buy-ins. $500 or$150. Its a tax write off also. If your not a poker player you can attend for $25. There will be special guest there also! Possible Jim Leyland! Some of the auction items are autographed by Sid the Kid, Big Ben, James Harrison and many more!
Come out for a great evening of fun, drinks and food! RSVP by Jan 5th! Steve can be contacted at 724.417.3453 or steve@heroprogram.org
