When the average sports fan thinks about western Pennsylvania sports what typically comes to mind is the many football stars that the region has produced. The Pittsburgh area, though, has historically also been a great source of baseball talent as well, starting with Honus Wagner and Josh Gibson and continuing with such major leaguers as Dick Groat, Glenn Beckert, Ken Griffey Sr, Chuck Tanner, Stan Musial, Matt Clement, Sean Casey and Neil Walker.
