When the average sports fan thinks about western Pennsylvania sports what typically comes to mind is the many football stars that the region has produced. The Pittsburgh area, though, has historically also been a great source of baseball talent as well, starting with Honus Wagner and continuing with such major leaguers as Dick Groat, Glenn Beckert, Ken Griffey, Sr., Chuck Tanner, Stan Musial, Matt Clement and Sean Casey.
The purpose of WEST PENN BASEBALL PROSPECTS is to make you aware of the wealth of current high school baseball talent in western Pennsylvania. The newsletter reports on players who have the ability to play at all levels of college baseball. Players are included in WEST PENN BASEBALL PROSPECTS based on the recommendations of local high school coaches.
